Congregational Life Ministries

Our Lord told his disciples, “Love one another as I have loved you.” At First & Calvary Presbyterian Church, we are privileged with many opportunities to love one another by various ministries of care.

Here are a number of ways you can both give and receive care:
  • Flower Delivery to Homebound Members

A committee of our Board of Deacons arranges for flowers donated by members for use in worship services to be delivered to homebound members after services on Sunday. Would you like to brighten someone’s day with a visit and some beautiful flowers? Volunteer Here
  • Food Ministry

This informally organized group rallies to provide food for families following funerals, etc. Want to help with this important ministry? Volunteer Here
  • Hospital Visitation

Going to the hospital is an unpleasant and sometimes frightening experience for anyone. First & Calvary’s Hospital Visitation Team ministers to our members and friends in the hospital by making daily visits. In doing so, we directly carry out the Lord’s commandment to look after those who are sick. Do you think you might be called to this important ministry? Contact our Senior Pastor, Andrew Chaney to discuss how you can help or Volunteer Here.
  • Home Communion and Worship

This is a great way for us to extend the hospitality of the Lord’s Table beyond our walls. Every 4-6 weeks volunteers provide a worship service with communion at a retirement facility. With some formal training by the pastors and approval by our Session and Presbytery, members of our congregation can minister to homebound members and those in retirement homes by serving them the Lords’ Supper. If you would like to be part of this meaningful ministry to our seniors, contact Lucia Oerter or Volunteer Here.
  • Transportation to Church (Currently Sunday morning only)

Eligible members who are unable to drive themselves to worship services on Sunday mornings can inquire about transportation through our contracted shuttle service. Volunteer Here
  • Prayer Team

We have a team of dedicated prayer warriors who are honored to pray for each prayer concern that is received. If you have a prayer need, we want to pray for you. Please take time to complete a Prayer Request Form.  Please consider becoming one of our prayer warriors! Volunteer Here
