"Musical Offerings" Concert Series

First & Calvary's "Musical Offerings" Concert Series is our ministry's gift to the community and has become a well-known venue for outstanding soloists and ensembles in Springfield and the surrounding area.

We gather for spiritual enrichment through music. Encouraged to pursue our gifts, we offer our music in active ministry to the glory of God. No admission is charged and the public is cordially invited to attend. All concerts are free and open to the public and begin at 2:30 p.m.

Listen to the sounds of the trumpet, from virtuosic showpieces to well known songs. Having been named a prizewinner in national and international solo competitions,  trumpeter Tim Wootton has performed in the United States and Thailand. Alongside wife and pianist, Carla Wootton, the duo will present a program sure to have something for everyone.

Craig Cramer, Organist

Craig Cramer is Professor of Organ and Artist in Residence at the University of Notre Dame in Indiana. He also serves as organist at St. David of Wales Episcopal Church in Elkhart, Indiana. He holds degrees from Westminster Choir College and the Eastman School of Music where he earned the Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Organ Performance.  The Eastman School also awarded him the prestigious Performer's Certificate in Organ. He has studied with Russell Saunders, William Hays, James Drake, David Boe, and André Marchal (Paris).

Always a favorite on our Musical Offerings series, the MSU is the primary touring choir of the Department of Music at Missouri State University. The choir of fifty-plus voices has established itself as one of the nation’s premier choral ensembles, performing by invitation at major choral conventions and frequently traveling abroad. Their program
will showcase the classic a cappella repertoire for which they are renowned.

The Atlanta Guitar Trio

Bill Hearn, Scott Plato, and Adam Craighead have many decades of experience in guitar performance and guitar education. Working together as The Atlanta Guitar Trio, they provide audiences with exciting, fun, and entertaining concerts.  The group performs music from many different historical periods, as well as arrangements for guitar & mandolin,  and guitar & theorbo. During the concert, the trio will entertain the audience with information regarding the instruments, and insight into the composers and their music.
