Youth Sunday [February 3, 2013]

"See, I am doing a new thing!" Isaiah 43:19

Most of us end the year with new things:

New clothes-like socks or ties,
A new recipe to try out at next year's Christmas dinner,
And speaking of food, maybe a few new pounds...

We start the year off with new things, too:

A new calendar on the wall,
Possibly new gadgets to play with,
And even a few new resolutions for the days ahead.

Almost everybody likes new things, including God. He may be called the Ancient of Days, but He says, "Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?" Isaiah 43:18-19

God desires to do new things in our lives if we listen. And when we listen to God, then we'll be free to live each day expecting new, fresh things from the One Who promises "I am making everything new!" Revelation 21:5
