This Lent, we invite you to join a One Another Group—a short-term gathering designed to help you get to know others in our church family while encouraging one another in faith.
For this season, we are excited to dive into a video Bible study based on N.T. Wright’s seminal work, "Surprised by Hope." Together, we will explore the "life after life after death," challenging common assumptions about the afterlife and discovering how the promise of bodily resurrection transforms our mission as a church today.
The Details:
-
Duration: Groups meet for 5 weeks, beginning the week after Ash Wednesday (Feb. 18) and concluding before Holy Week (March 29).
-
How to Join: Sign up using this form by Wednesday, February 11.
-
Next Steps: Your group facilitator will contact you shortly after the sign-up deadline with specific meeting details.
-
Childcare: Our Sunday evening group may offer childcare, depending on need and staff availability. Please indicate your interest on the sign-up form.
Interested in Hosting? If you would prefer to host a group with your own circle of friends rather than joining a pre-planned group, we would love to support you! Simply indicate "Host" on the sign-up form, and we will provide you with the video access and leadership resources you need.
Questions? Please reach out to Jamie Swope at j.swope@firstandcalvary.org. We look forward to journeying through Lent together!

Join us on Saturday, February 7, from 10 AM - 12 PM in our F&C Kids Worship Studio (room 215) for an open art morning. We will have a short group devotional, and then you and your children will be free to make art together with the provided supplies. How will God inspire you to worship and create with your children?

You’re invited to Artists Anonymous—a space for creatives to gather, share, and encourage one another. Learn more here.

On Wednesday, February 11, from 6:00–7:30 PM, students in grades 6–12 are invited to a bowling night at Enterprise Park Lanes (1625 S. Enterprise, Springfield, MO 65804), with drop-off and pick-up at the lanes; the cost is $10 per student, payable through the registration form or with cash (exact change) the night of the event, and financial assistance is available by contacting Paul at p.ragon@firstandcalvary.org or 731-414-6419, and parents or guardians are asked to complete one form per student.

For our next Pastor's Book Club, we will be discussing John Piper’s classic, Desiring God: Meditations of a Christian Hedonist. In a year when we are looking to “deepen our delight” in God, Piper’s biblical reflections are especially helpful. As he writes in the preface, “This is a serious book about being happy in God. It’s about happiness because that is what our Creator commands: “Delight yourself in the Lord” (Ps. 37:4).” Join us to discuss this great book on Wednesday, March 25th at 6:00 PM in the church library.
