Every Thursday in May | 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM | Room 020
One of the important tasks of our later years is the work of remembering. As we read in the Psalms, “I consider the days of old, the years long ago.” (Psalm 77:5)
The Bible models helpful approaches to the work remembering, ways of looking back at your time on earth that can lead to more clarity, gratitude, healing, peace, and joy. Redemptive remembering can also lead to important discipleship growth.
Join Pastor Don Everts every Thursday in May (from 1:00-2:00 PM in Room 020) to learn about these biblical lenses on remembering - and to try them out! (No prior experience with writing required - just a willingness to use each week’s prompt to help you remember and a desire for God to be in the remembering with you.)

May 5th | 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm | First & Calvary Library
Life as an artist can be trying at times. Whether you're crafting story, art, or music the journey can be littered with questions.
Am I really an artist?
Is what I'm laboring to make worth it?
Are my struggles normal?
How do my faith and my making intersect?
We offer a safe space for Christian artists who struggle with their craft. We'll share our latest projects, the joys and the struggles we're experiencing in the making, and how our faith is crucial to our creative process.

May 21 | 6 PM | First & Calvary Library
At our next Pastor’s Book Club will be discussing Jayber Crow, Wendell Berry’s classic novel about the fictional town of Port William. Berry is a novelist, poet, and farmer and in this novel his clear–sighted depiction of humanity’s gifts—love and loss, joy and despair—is seen though his intimate knowledge of the Port William Membership.
“Engaging with this tender, thought-provoking novel has helped me grow as a disciple of Jesus,” says Pastor Don. Pick up a copy at the library or your favorite bookstore and join with Pastor Don and others at 6pm in the church library on May 21st to discuss!
Coming this summer: we will be reading and discussing Andrew Peterson’s Wingfeather Saga! Dates TBD.
