Join us for an evening of food, fellowship, and fun at our annual Church Picnic on Sunday, September 20, from 5:00–7:00 PM in the North Atrium/Fellowship Hall.
The Congregational Life Committee will provide fried chicken, beverages, plates, and utensils. Everyone attending, including families and individuals, is asked to bring a dish to share according to the first letter of your last name:
A–D: Bring a dessert
E–Z: Bring a side dish
Due to the heat we will be inside this year. You can still bring your lawn chairs or picnic blankets and settle in for the evening. We’ll also have activities and games for the kids in the Multi-Purpose Room.
Come hungry and ready to enjoy a great evening together as a church family!

Our October 2 Art Walk will feature homemade treats, live jazz, and fall festivities beneath the bell tower! Help us make the evening special by [signing up to provide food] and/or [volunteering to help with the event].
Can't make it that Friday? You can still participate! Food contributions can be dropped off at the church office during the week leading up to the event. See the signup forms for details.
Thank you for helping us create a warm and welcoming evening for our church and community!

Come learn more about First & Calvary and explore taking your next steps at this lunch discussion with our pastors on October 4 at 12:15. We will share about our mission and history, how to get involved--and for those who wish-- how to join as a covenant partner. Childcare is available upon request. RSVP by Sept. 9.

Who in your life is looking for a place to talk about faith?
Everyone has questions. Whether it’s about the purpose of life, the identity of Jesus, or why it all matters, Alpha provides a safe, no-pressure space to explore those answers.
We are hosting a 4-week Alpha series on Sunday evenings starting Sept. 27 at First &Calvary, and we’re asking our church family to pray and invite a neighbor, a coworker, or a friend, and come with them to Alpha.
If you have never attended in Alpha before and are interested in attending yourself, please feel free to join us. Let’s all be praying for those who will gather around these tables.

On October 22nd Pastor Don will be giving an important update on the Centennial Legacy Campaign and the First & Calvary Foundation will be presenting their annual report on the state of our Foundation. (6:30 PM in the Fellowship Hall)
Whether you’re interesting in learning about the Legacy Campaign for the first time or you’re a participant in the campaign interested in learning the latest, this dessert is for you! Come learn more about how we are taking steps to secure the enduring legacy of this 96 year-old congregation.

Everyone’s talking about AI. But very few people are talking about AI theologically. At the next installment of First & Calvary’s Life of the Mind Lecture Series, Rev. Don Everts will present an overview of Pope Leo XIV’s helpful recent encyclical, Magnifica Humanitas: On Safeguarding the Human Person in the Time of Artificial Intelligence, followed by an overview of responses from a reformed/protestant perspective. If you want to know how to use AI for life hacks, this might not be the lecture for you. But if you are interested in a biblically-grounded reflection on AI and all the questions AI raises, mark your calendars: Oct 25, 4pm in the Fellowship Hall of First & Calvary Presbyterian Church.
