In a year when we are focusing on deepening our delight in God, our pastor has selected Henri Nouwen’s The Return of the Prodigal Son for our Fall Book Club.
A chance encounter with a reproduction of Rembrandt’s painting “The Return of the Prodigal Son” catapulted Henri Nouwen on a long spiritual adventure. In this short book, Nouwen shares about that journey and invites the reader to reflect for themselves on Jesus' profound parable.

Join us for an afternoon of beautiful piano music as First & Calvary's Musical Offerings Concert Series welcomes Dr. Byung Sook Kong on Sunday, November 15.
An accomplished pianist and educator, Dr. Kong holds a Doctor of Musical Arts degree from the University of North Texas and currently serves as adjunct piano faculty at Southwest Baptist University and a collaborative pianist at Missouri State University. She has performed at Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center and received numerous awards in international piano competitions.
Her recital will feature Mozart's Piano Sonata No. 13 in B-flat Major, Debussy's L'Isle joyeuse, and Scriabin's Piano Sonata No. 5. The program will be presented without intermission.

Jesus talked extensively about the Holy Spirit and designed us to live our daily lives in tandem with Him. Yet over time, discussions about the Holy Spirit have often become overcomplicated or even intimidating.
Whether you’ve participated in Alpha or are completely new to the conversation, this Holy Spirit Workshop is a welcoming space to learn and experience what it means to live life with the Spirit.

Calling all makers! Rather than taking a deep dive into one artist's work, we'd love to bring together many artists and makers to showcase the breadth of creativity within our congregation! We're envisioning tables throughout the atrium walkways and catwalks, each featuring a selection of someone's work.
Have more than a table's worth of work to share? We can accommodate! Can't make it that evening? We'd still love to display your work.

Please join us as we celebrate the beauty of the Advent season and the joy of waiting for the fulfillment of God’s promises. There will be keepsake ornaments to create, cookies to decorate, and interactive ways to experience the Nativity story. This annual Advent event is best for families with children elementary-age and younger, and there will be fun options for infants and toddlers as well as your older children.
