Our Children's Ministry seeks to equip families to disciple children who are lifelong followers of Jesus who:

SUNDAY CLASSES
*Children's Sunday Morning Classes will resume this fall. Care for children continues to be available for our morning worship services and the Sunday morning adult class hour.
During the school year, we have encouraging, Christ-centered Sunday school classes for children of all ages throughout the school year at 9:45 am. sunday classes help children learn who god is through the Bible and grow in their faith with the support of the church family and in partnership with parents. attendance is a foundational habit of faithful families who are also encouraged to learn at home as well (Colossians 3:16).
Loving care available for children on the Main level throughout the morning year-round.
WORSHIP SERVICES
By learning about and experiencing worship, children grow to become full participants in the faith community. this helps children see their place in god's intergenerational family. they learn that worship is a continuous response to God's grace (psalm 122:1)
Children are a cherished part of our congregation and are welcome at all of our services as we love the wiggles and having them part of our worship. we have a children's message before the sermon and engaging, brightly colored worship bags with activities that help hands that like keeping busy during the worship service.
Childcare is available during all of the worship service with playtime with caregivers who love Jesus and kids.
Young children know, love, and worship God, but most worship is structured and full of words and symbols based on stories and memories children do not yet have.
Children who are ages 3 through 3rd grade are invited to participate in our Children's Worship Center (room 216), which will take place during the Traditional service (11:oo am) immediately following our "time for children" moment.
Children will have an opportunity to encounter and worship god in a manner meaningful to them. they will enter into a sacred time and place where they can be with god, hear the stories of god, talk to god, and listen to god. they will participate in ritual of worship which corresponds to first & calvary's order of congregational worship.
The worship center will be a structured environment in which the children can abide in god's love as experienced in biblical stories, parables, and liturgical presentations so that they may experience meaning and order in their lives and, as the body of christ, live as christ's ministers in the world.
FAMILIES
We value walking alongside parents and fmailies to help raise children who love jesus and to support parents in their spiritual growth too. each week, we send emails to families with free resources to help your family grow as a disciples of Jesus Christ. To join that email list, please use the registration on the for linked below. Throughout the year, we have parenting specific workshops, Bible studies, book clubs, etc. as well as events for fun for the whole family.

AMELIA DAVIDSON
Children's Ministry Coordinator
Amelia Davidson has been worshiping at First & Calvary since 2007. She has been a participant and volunteer in the Children's Ministry department since 2016 and became the Children's Ministry Coordinator in the spring of 2025. Amelia has a background in music education and nearly 20 years of teaching experience with learners of all ages.
