Children

Our Children's Ministry seeks to equip families to disciple children who are lifelong followers of Jesus who:

  • know they are a beloved child of God, actively grow in Christ
  • actively grow as apprentices in the Faith
  • serve others in the name of Jesus
  • share their faith

“Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might. And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise. You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates." Deuteronomy 6:4-9

Worship Services

By learning about and experiencing worship, children grow to become full participants in the faith community. This helps children see their place in God’s intergenerational family. They learn that worship is a continuous response to God’s grace (Psalm 122:1).

8:45 am Early Service:
This service is shorter with teaching, conversation, and communion that children will find interactive and engaging. There are fun, brightly colored Worship Bags with activities that help hands that like keeping busy during the worship service. Childcare is also available for children in first grade and younger.

11:00 am Liturgical Service:
Children are a cherished part of our congregation and are welcome at both of our services as we love the wiggles and the giggles and having them part of our worship. We have a children's message before the sermon and engaging, brightly colored Worship Bags with activities that help hands that like keeping busy during the worship service. Children in first grade and younger have the option to attend childcare during the worship service with playtime with caregivers who love Jesus and kids.

Sunday School

9:45 am:
We have encouraging, Christ-centered Sunday School classes for children of all ages. Sunday classes help children learn who God is through the Bible and grow in their faith with the support of the church family and in partnership with parents. Attendance is a foundational habit of faithful families who are also encouraged to learn at home as well (Colossians 3:16).
  • Childcare is available for children who are not yet potty-trained. Check-in is on the Main Level.
  • Sunday School for Preschool and Elementary School is on the second level.

Families

We value walking alongside parents and families to help raise children who love Jesus and to support parents in their spiritual growth too. Each week, we send emails to families with free resources to help your family grow as disciples of Jesus Christ. To join that email list, please use the registration on the form linked below. Throughout the year, we have parenting specific workshops, Bible studies, book clubs, etc. as well as events for fun for the whole family.

Children’s Choir | Sundays at 9:30 a.m. | In the Choir Room with Ms. Hannah (2nd floor)

We are blessed to be able to offer this unique ministry where kids can come together to express their faith through music and feel that they are beloved children of God. The Children’s Choir helps lead worship throughout the year and presents special music around Christmas and Easter. Our goal is to encourage a love for fellowship, music, and worship that the kids will have for years to come. For more information, you can visit with Hannah or Tyler after worship on Sunday, or reach out to our children's ministry staff through the form below.

Baptism

The following is a summary of our ECO Presbyterian Denomination's beliefs on Baptism from ECO's book Baptism: Theology and Resources:

In ECO, the sacrament of baptism is understood as part of the Reformed tradition. We believe that baptism is a means of grace and is effective. It is not merely a symbol. It is not effective in the removal of sin, but is effective in uniting the believer to the church and the body of Christ. God in the Holy Spirit make baptism effective at the time of God’s own choosing. Baptism is for all ages and any mental ability because it is not about recognizing an individual’s decision (though it must involve that for adults), but is about claiming the promises of God for inclusion in his people. In ECO, as part of the larger Christian tradition, the church as the body of Christ is an integral part of the gospel. Baptism is the sign of entrance into the people of God.

• Baptism is a sign that is linked to the thing signified. Baptism does not wash away original sin, but it does “seal” us to the washing of sin accomplished by Jesus.
• ECO believes in and practices the baptism of infants.
• Baptism is about God’s initiative.
• Baptism is about membership in a covenant community.
• Baptism is a symbol of adoption into the family of God.
• Baptism signifies the cleansing of sin by the grace of God.
• Baptism signifies that we are sealed by the Holy Spirit.
• Baptism is about new creation.
• Baptism is a mark of entrance into the visible church.
• Baptism is made effective by the Holy Spirit in God’s own time.
